Breaking: Shockingly Heat’s Star Josh Richardson Set to Undergo Shoulder Surgery…

Miami Heat’s Josh Richardson is set to undergo shoulder surgery and is expected to miss the rest of the season, according to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

The injury occurred on February 11th when Richardson dislocated his right shoulder while chasing a loose ball in a game against Boston.

Despite hopes that Richardson would make a swift return, it was determined that surgery was the best course of action. This news came as the Heat were considering adding free agent Patty Mills to their roster, a move that could now be more crucial with Richardson’s extended absence.

Returning to Miami as a free agent this past summer, Richardson has played in 43 games this season, averaging 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. He has shot 44.4% from the field and 34.7% from beyond the arc.

Richardson holds a $3 million option for next season, and the injury may influence his decision to opt-in rather than testing free agency.
