QPR is expressing interest in Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on X. Alongside Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, the club is considering a move for the goalkeeper.
Nwabali, aged 27, has recently participated in international duty with Nigeria at AFCON. However, here are three alternative goalkeepers that QPR might explore this summer instead:
1. **Viktor Johansson:**
– Despite Rotherham United’s challenges in the Championship this season, Johansson has stood out as a key player. If Rotherham faces relegation to League One, they might struggle to retain him in the upcoming transfer window. The Sweden international has secured the number one spot with Rotherham and could be an excellent addition to the QPR squad.
2. **Steven Benda:**
– Fulham acquired the 25-year-old last year, but he has been primarily used as a backup. Seeking more first-team opportunities, Benda may benefit from a move away from Craven Cottage. Having been with Swansea City from 2017 to 2023, he played 31 games for the Welsh team. Benda also gained valuable experience through loan spells at Swindon Town and Peterborough United.
