Breaking: Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields now favored to land with AFC contender in blockbuster trade…

The ongoing speculation suggests that the Chicago Bears may trade quarterback Justin Fields during the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine. Fields, 24, has faced inconsistency in his three seasons since being drafted as the 11th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

With the Bears reportedly eyeing USC’s Caleb Williams with their top pick in this year’s draft, Fields is seen as expendable.

Despite a modest record of 40 touchdown passes in 38 starts and a 10-28 team record, Fields’ dual-threat skills (2,220 rushing yards, 14 TD) make him an intriguing trade option.

Recent odds from DraftKings SportsBook position the Pittsburgh Steelers as the frontrunners (-125) to acquire Fields in a blockbuster trade, with the Bears at +200. Other teams, including the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Denver Broncos, are also in the mix.

The Steelers’ interest is bolstered by the release of veteran Mitchell Trubisky, leaving Kenny Pickett as the sole quarterback on their roster, with underwhelming performance in his 24 career starts since being drafted in 2022. Reports suggest Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin holds a favorable view of Fields.

The Falcons and Patriots have also been linked to Fields, aiming for veteran upgrades over their current young quarterbacks. Speculation suggests that Chicago could fetch a second-round pick and additional assets in a trade for Fields.

Despite a better performance in the past season with 20 total touchdowns and nine interceptions, the consensus is that Fields may be on the move. Pittsburgh, armed with the 20th and 51st overall picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, is considered a potential suitor, with wide receiver George Pickens possibly included in a trade package.
