Breaking: Penrith Panthers’ Coach Reveals Why 27 Years-old Star is Ruled Out of World Club Challenge Against Wigan Warriors…

Penrith Panthers standout player Jarome Luai has been officially declared unavailable for the upcoming World Club Challenge clash against Wigan Warriors, as confirmed by head coach Ivan Cleary.

Cleary informed The Sydney Morning Herald that Luai’s recovery from injury is not complete, and the match at the DW Stadium has been deemed too early for his return.

The coach expressed optimism about Luai’s potential comeback for the NRL round one in March against the Melbourne Storm.

Cleary emphasized that although Luai won’t be participating in the World Club Challenge, he is in close proximity to full fitness. The decision is to allow him to continue his rehabilitation and remain with the team for training as a recognition of his contributions to the squad and the club.

Despite returning ahead of schedule from a dislocated shoulder to participate in the NRL finals, Luai’s appearance in the decider against the Brisbane Broncos was short-lived, lasting only 52 minutes. The 27-year-old underwent shoulder surgery during the off-season to address the lingering issue.

With Luai’s absence, the Panthers may look to Brad Schneider, who returned after a successful stint with Hull KR, to potentially partner with star player Nathan Cleary. Other alternatives for the five-eighth position include Jack Cole and Daine Laurie.
