Concluding their four-game road stint with a disappointing attempt at a comeback against the Raptors, the Houston Rockets are set to face the Atlanta Hawks in an interconference clash on Saturday night.
Following a 107-104 defeat to the Toronto Raptors on Friday, the Rockets find themselves at 0-3 for the road trip and hold a 5-19 record overall away from the Toyota Center.
In the loss to the Raptors, Dillon Brooks led the Rockets with 20 points, while the standout performance off the bench came from rookie Cam Whitmore, who scored an impressive 17 points in the first half. Unfortunately, Whitmore is likely to miss the upcoming game due to a right ankle sprain that forced an early exit in Toronto.
The Rockets’ starting five struggled significantly against the Raptors, prompting Coach Ime Udoka to bench Jalen Green and Alperen Şengün midway through the third quarter. The duo combined for 14 points in the defeat.
“I saw everything from them [the reserves],” said Coach Udoka. “I love what they did. We need to have that urgency from everybody from the start. It’s game 51, and we need to see some growth.”
On the other side, the Hawks are entering the game with momentum from a 127-121 road victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, where All-Star guard Trae Young excelled with 37 points and 12 assists.
