46 Year-old Former Patriots QB Finally Breaks Silience on Bill Belichick’s Unsuccessful Coaching Pursuit After Patriots Era…

Tom Brady has broken his silence regarding the apparent lack of interest in hiring Bill Belichick as a head coach in the NFL since his departure from the New England Patriots.

Despite being twice interviewed by the Atlanta Falcons, Belichick, at 71, has not secured a coaching position for the 2024 season. The Falcons eventually appointed Raheem Morris as their new coach, and other teams, including the Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, Washington Commanders, and the Patriots, made coaching hires without considering Belichick.

Expressing his surprise on the ‘Let’s Go!’ podcast, Brady discussed the uncertainty surrounding the hiring criteria for coaches, stating his amazement that the renowned coach hasn’t landed a job. He drew a parallel to his own experience as a free agent in 2019 when teams initially showed little interest before he eventually signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady cryptically alluded to unexpected occurrences in the NFL, saying, “There (are) a lot of things that happen that, for one reason or another, don’t go exactly the way you think they should go.”

These comments follow similar sentiments expressed by Brady’s father, Tom Sr., who suggested that Belichick’s age (71) might be a factor in teams not rushing to hire him. Tom Sr. also discussed the challenges teams might face in accommodating Belichick’s desire for full control, questioning whether the potential success he brings is worth the accommodations.

Reflecting on Belichick’s reputation post-Brady, Tom Sr. acknowledged the criticism the coach has faced in recent years and remarked on the decline in the Patriots’ performance since Brady’s departure, describing the last few years of Belichick’s tenure in New England as disappointing.
