Doc Rivers eyes coaching history as Bucks prepare for Jazz…

Not only did Doc Rivers win his first game in his new role as head coach of Milwaukee on Saturday night at Dallas.

Despite having just been hired for a little over a week, he was named the Eastern Conference All-Star team’s coach following the Bucks’ thrilling 129-117 comeback victory over the Mavericks.

Although the Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla was not allowed to coach the All-Stars again since he was the team’s head coach the previous season, the Bucks own the second-best record in the Eastern Conference.

“That is just awful. When questioned about coaching the East All-Stars, Rivers responded, “It truly is. It’s just one of those peculiar things. I believe there ought to be a rule requiring someone else to complete the task instead of me. Perhaps I’ll send my employees and take a holiday. I will forward that to Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA. Adam is a decent man. I believe he will comprehend.”

Additionally, Rivers tied Larry Brown on Saturday for the eighth-most career NBA coaching victories. When the Bucks play the Utah Jazz on Sunday night in Salt Lake City, he will have his first chance to pass Brown.

Milwaukee overcomes an early 25-point deficit to win by double digits in Dallas, and they bring some positive energy into their matchup with the Jazz.

“We had a terrific victory, in my opinion,” remarked Bucks star Damian Lillard. “Our start was sluggish. They emerged heated. All we had to do was take the call. We remained composed, committed, and united.”

The comeback win, led by Lillard’s 30 points, was the second-biggest comeback this season for Milwaukee, which had previously overcome a 26-point deficit against Portland.

Giannis Antetokounmpo also put on a fantastic display for the Bucks. In addition to his 48 points, he had 10 assists and 6 rebounds.

Milwaukee took the lead late in the second quarter with a 15-0 run, and they went on to win the game impressively on the road by dominating the second half.

Nobody became alarmed. That seemed significant to me for our squad, “added Rivers. “I remained calm. No one became frightened. We simply persisted there.”

The Jazz, who have lost six of their last eight games and three of their last four, are feeling a little differently heading into this game.

In their most recent game, Utah was defeated 127-124 on Thursday by the Philadelphia 76ers, despite Tyrese Maxey scoring a season-high 51 points. After returning on a six-game road trip, Utah hasn’t played since then.

Lauri Markkanen, a forward for the Jazz who scored 14 of his team-high 28 points against Philadelphia in the fourth quarter, stated, “We had to pay attention to all the little aspects.” “We’re going to learn from the small aspects in the game that we can improve at.”

The Sixers had led for the majority of the game when the Jazz briefly took the lead, 120-117. However, they couldn’t hold on for too long.

Jazz coach Will Hardy stated, “I think that we’re fighting hard physically and, at times, we just look a little bit mentally unavailable. We got to elevate our awareness to what’s going on in the game.”
