Breaking: Patriots Insider Reveal How Mac Jones Displeased with Treatment Compared to Jets’ Zach Wilson…

The New England Patriots’ quarterback situation during the recent season was undeniably dire, marked by the fact that Mac Jones, a former first-round pick, was permanently benched in Week 12.

Bailey Zappe, his backup at the time, took over until Jones ended the season as the emergency third quarterback. To accurately depict the strained relationship between Jones and the Patriots’ coaching staff, particularly Bill Belichick, “dysfunctional” seems to be the most fitting term.

According to a recent report by Mass Live’s Mark Daniels, the situation had deteriorated to the point where, upon learning he would be a “healthy scratch” for the Patriots’ Week 18 game against the New York Jets, Jones expressed frustration over the lack of communication.

In contrast, the report highlights how the Jets handled a similar situation with their quarterback, Zach Wilson, who also lost his starting position in the same year as Jones.

The Jets were transparent with Wilson about the change, earning praise from Jones, who, before the game, conveyed his appreciation to a member of the Jets’ staff for their organization’s communication. Daniels later mentioned that a source described the relationship between Jones and Belichick as “broken.”

Although Belichick has parted ways with the team, Jones’ future remains uncertain. With Jerod Mayo as the new coach and the possibility of a new offensive coordinator, Jones may have another opportunity to prove himself, whether as a backup or in a different role.

However, recent reports suggest that Jones’s teammates are discontented with him, as he attended Mayo’s introductory workout despite reportedly clearing out his locker at the end of the season.

Coupled with Mayo’s hints about selecting a quarterback with the No. 3 pick in the NFL Draft, it appears that Jones’ tenure as the franchise quarterback in New England is coming to an end.
