Unsettled Deal: Adolis García’s Arbitration Talks with the Texas Rangers that Stir Up Controversies

Texas Rangers’ standout right-fielder, Adolis García, might still reach a resolution before his upcoming arbitration hearing, according to Rangers’ General Manager Chris Young. The discussions between the two parties have been positive, with ongoing dialogue expected in the coming week. García, a two-time All-Star, is entering his first year of arbitration at the age of 31, having thrived since joining the Rangers in 2019. Acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals, García is the sole player among those eligible for arbitration who has yet to agree to terms. His requested salary is $6.9 million, while the Rangers have offered $5 million. García, recovering from an oblique strain that sidelined him in the final World Series games, expressed optimism about his physical condition and mentioned waiting for the arbitration hearing. Despite some disappointment, he remains focused on contributing to the team and maintaining a positive attitude amid the contract negotiations.
