The Edmonton Oilers defeated the visiting Chicago Blackhawks 3-0 on Thursday night to extend their franchise-record winning streak to 15 games. Connor McDavid scored two goals and added an assist, and backup goalie Calvin Pickard stopped 27 shots—including a penalty shot for his first shutout of the season.

The 15-game winning run was tied for the third-longest in NHL history with the New York Islanders (1981–82) and the Pittsburgh Penguins (2012–13). With a 17-game winning run in 1992–93, Pittsburgh owns the record, while Columbus had a 16-game winning streak in 2016–17.

For Pickard, who was making his 100th NHL start, it was the first shutout of his career and his fifth overall since 2018. The Oilers have played 13 straight games with two goals or fewer allowed.
McDavid extended his home point run to 17 games and recorded his 53rd career multi-goal performance. Zach Hyman scored a goal and Leon Draisaitl finished with three assists for Edmonton.

Chicago, which lost on the road for the 19th time in a row, tied a franchise record set in 2004 when Petr Mrazek finished with 31 saves. Nov. 9 at Tampa Bay was the Blackhawks’ most recent road victory, 5-3.

Ducks 3, Stars 4 (OT)

For the eleventh time in a row, Dallas overcame Anaheim with a goal from Thomas Harley in overtime and a goal from Miro Heiskanen in the third.

The Stars also had goals from Craig Smith and Matt Duchene, and Jake Oettinger made 18 stops. Heiskanen has been sidelined for ten games due to a lower body ailment.

The Ducks’ scorers were Jakob Silfverberg, Troy Terry, and Urho Vaakanainen. Anaheim’s record since December 29 has slipped to 3-7-1, with John Gibson having 40 saves. Isac Lundestrom had two assists, and Silfverberg scored one goal and assisted another for Anaheim.

Devils 2, Hurricanes 3.

Carolina took an early lead and defeated New Jersey in Raleigh, North Carolina, with to goals and an assist from Teuvo Teravainen.

The Hurricanes, who have won three of their last four games, also have goals from Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal. 23 saves were made by Antti Raanta.

In his Devils debut, Justin Dowling scored as well as Jester Bratt. Early in the second session, Nico Daws denied nine out of twelve shots before being substituted in response to Carolina’s third goal. Enter Vitek Vanecek, who stopped all eleven of the shots he faced. After being struck in the face by a puck in the second period, Devils coach Lindy Ruff was sidelined for the third, with associate coach Travis Green taking over.

Thunder 6, Coyotes 3,

Tampa Bay defeated Arizona at home for the sixth time in a row behind goals and two assists from Nikita Kucherov and two goals and an assist from Steven Stamkos, who surpassed 1,100 career points.

Brayden Point scored and added an assist, and Mitchell Chaffee scored his first goal ever. Luke Glendening and Darren Raddysh both scored as well. In his 400th career game, Anthony Cirelli contributed an assist, and goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 17 shots.

Clayton Keller of Arizona scored and assisted. The Coyotes were outscored 12-5 in their consecutive losses to the Florida Panthers and Lightning during the Sunshine State swing, despite goals from Lawson Crouse and Sean Durzi.

Islanders 3, Canadiens 4,

With 2:12 remaining, Sean Monahan’s second goal of the game snapped the tie, and host Montreal ruined a visit from New York’s recently appointed coach and club legend Patrick Roy.
After goals from Nick Suzuki, Cole Caulfield, and Monahan in the first period, the Canadiens led 3-0. With 43 saves, Sam Montembeault helped the Canadiens end a three-game losing streak.

Under Roy, the legendary Canadiens coach who took over for Lane Lambert, New York dropped to 1-2-0 as goals came from Bo Horvat, Mathew Barzal, and Kyle Palmieri. Horvat, Barzal, and Palmieri all contributed an assist for New York, which is stuck in a 1-5-1 slump. Semyon Varlamov made 22 saves, and Noah Dobson provided three assists.

Detroit defeated Philadelphia at home behind 30 saves from Alex Lyon.

For Lyon, it was his second shutout since joining Detroit as a free agency last summer and his third in his career overall. The goals came from Dylan Larkin, Moritz Seider, and Andrew Copp for the Red Wings, who now have an 8-2-1 record after 11 games. Lucas Raymond contributed a pair of notes.

Even with a 30–17 shooting edge, Philadelphia lost its fourth straight game—all in regulation. Elias Samuel Ersson made 14 saves.

Senators 2, Bruins 3 (OT)

At 1:48 of overtime, Brad Marchand scored the game-winning goal to help visiting Boston defeat Ottawa.

Following his 35th and last stop on Tim Stutzle’s shot at the other end of the rink, Boston Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman set up Charlie Coyle for a cross-ice pass that found Marchand for a game-winning snap.

After helping Vladimir Tarasenko score the game-tying goal with 3:18 remaining in the third, Thomas Chabot scored for Ottawa, which had won three of its previous four games.

Wild 2, Predators 3,

In the third quarter, Nashville scored all three of its goals and prevailed over Minnesota in St. Paul, Minnesota.

With a goal and an assist from Roman Josi, Nashville ended a two-game losing streak. The Predators also had goals from Alexandre Carrier and Filip Forsberg, while Ryan O’Reilly provided two assists.

Minnesota’s goals came from Matt Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek. The Wild, who had won their previous three games, lost with two assists from Kirill Kaprizov.

Flames 2, Blue Jackets 5, and

Visiting Columbus defeated Calgary thanks to a short-handed goal by Alexandre Texier in the second period.

With one goal and one assist from each of Yegor Chinakhov, Damon Severson, and Adam Fantilli, as well as one goal from Dmitri Voronkov, the Blue Jackets ended a two-game losing streak. The win came from goalie Daniil Tarasov, who made 28 saves to help the Blue Jackets, who are currently bottom of the Metropolitan Division.

For the Flames, who have dropped their last four games in a row, all at home and in regulation, MacKenzie Weegar and Connor Zary have scored goals. Jacob Markstrom, the goalie, stopped 27 shots.
