Cam Newton Criticizes Media Circus Around Cowboys’ Family Drama and Urges Unity for Prescott-Lamb Duo…

Cam Newton has expressed his dissatisfaction with the media frenzy surrounding the Dallas Cowboys’ recent loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card. The fallout has brought unexpected family drama involving quarterback Dak Prescott and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Newton, speaking on his “4th & 1” podcast, criticized Lamb’s mother, Leta Ramirez, for publicly suggesting that Prescott should be traded after the defeat.

In a straightforward manner, Newton conveyed his belief that the ongoing drama was unnecessary, emphasizing that family members adding their opinions could only create more problems for the team. Urging them to refrain from speaking out, he stated, “I say this respectfully. Just shut up. Just shut up because it’s not going to do any good…you’re going to bring more trouble.” Newton stressed that airing personal opinions in public, especially from the supporting cast, doesn’t contribute positively to the team environment.

Addressing concerns about the apparent strain in the Prescott-Lamb connection, Newton highlighted that the statistics tell a different story. Despite Prescott’s two interceptions in the final game, he threw for 403 yards and a touchdown. Newton also pointed out the offensive line’s struggles in protecting Prescott, with four sacks indicating the issue. Lamb’s impressive 110 receiving yards in the game, along with his season totals of 1749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, demonstrated their ability to perform well together.

Newton suggested alternative solutions for the Cowboys’ challenges, such as improving the offensive line, acquiring a strong WR2 to relieve coverage on Lamb, or implementing a new offensive scheme. Despite the team’s setbacks, Newton emphasized that splitting Prescott and Lamb should not be a top priority on Jerry Jones’ to-do list.
