Ohio State University has wasted no time in expanding its prospect list for the 2025 and 2026 classes, following a successful weekend of hosting top recruits. James Laurinaitis, leveraging the absence of one position coach, showcased his natural recruiting abilities on the road. The Buckeyes, keen on fortifying their lineup, recently extended offers to promising talents.
In the 2025 class, attention turned to Minnesota as the Buckeyes targeted a standout linebacker. Emmanuel Karmo, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound athlete, received the offer and promptly shared the news on Twitter. Currently ranked as the No. 49 athlete nationally and the top player in Minnesota for 2025, Karmo boasts a growing list of offers from schools like Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Michigan State, USC, and now Ohio State. With the Buckeyes likely aiming for two to three linebackers in the 2025 cycle, Karmo, alongside Eli Lee, contributes to a robust start for the coaching staff.
Shifting the focus to the offensive line, Ohio State targeted Malachi Goodman from Paramus Catholic in New Jersey. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound lineman, although not yet ranked on 247Sports, has garnered offers from top-tier programs such as Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, Miami, Penn State, and USC. His impressive stature combined with the reputable football program at Paramus Catholic positions Goodman as a coveted player in the 2025 class, aligning with Ohio State’s strategy to bolster the offensive line.
In the 2026 class, Ohio State concluded its active recruiting day by extending an offer to Isaiah Williams, a promising defensive back from Texas. Despite being a high school sophomore, Williams, a 6-foot, 185-pound safety, has already received nearly 20 offers from schools like LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Texas A&M. Ohio State’s offer, facilitated by recruiter Tim Walton and safety position coach Matt Guerrieri, underscores the program’s commitment to securing top talents early on. As Williams’ stock is expected to rise, the Buckeyes position themselves as strong contenders for his services in both the immediate and distant future.
