‘Frustration’ – Why Fans are Crying Out Over Record-Breaking Streaming Numbers for Chiefs-Dolphins Playoff Game on Peacock…

The first-round playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins set a record for Peacock, the streaming platform, with 2.8 million new signups in the three days leading up to the Wild Card matchup.

According to digital analytics firm Antenna, this event became the most-viewed streaming event in U.S. history, reaching 28 million viewers, as reported by NBC.

The streaming platform had an average of 23 million viewers, making up 30% of all internet traffic in the U.S. during the game. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell hinted at the future direction of digital distribution in sports and entertainment.

However, despite the success, some fans expressed dissatisfaction with the exclusive nature of the game being available only on Peacock.

This contrasted with previous exclusive streaming on Amazon Prime, which has over 200 million prime members compared to Peacock’s 30 million users before the event.

The move to Peacock meant that more people had to sign up for the service for the first time, leading to discontent among some fans who felt the NFL was trying to extract more money from them.

Social media posts reflected this frustration, with users expressing their displeasure with the exclusive streaming arrangement for the playoff game.
