Raheem Morris gets rousing endorsement from Rams GM Les Snead for NFL head coaching jobs…

Raheem Morris Receives Strong Backing from Rams GM Les Snead for NFL Head Coaching Roles…

As the NFL off-season progresses and coaching vacancies emerge, Raheem Morris, the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams, is emerging as a viable candidate for head coaching positions.

Reports suggest that Morris, who previously served as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011 and as the interim head coach for the Atlanta Falcons in 2020, has interviewed for several coaching positions, with additional interviews scheduled in the coming days.

It appears increasingly likely that Morris will assume a new coaching role in the upcoming season, potentially moving away from the Rams. In light of this possibility, Rams General Manager Les Snead took the opportunity to enthusiastically endorse Morris during his end-of-season media session on Friday.

Snead dedicated the initial minutes of his media appearance, lasting nearly an hour, to extolling Morris’s qualities and explaining why he would make an excellent NFL head coach.

In a three-minute monologue, Snead emphasized Morris’s positive attributes, describing him as a great human being with a deep respect for everyone within an organization. He highlighted Morris’s exceptional intelligence and noted that he has a unique ability to build relationships and earn respect in return.

Snead emphasized Morris’s intelligence, stating that he is not only a skilled football professional but a highly intelligent individual who could have excelled in various fields but chose a career in football.

He pointed out Morris’s extensive experience on both sides of the ball, a rarity among coaches, and highlighted his collaborative nature, suggesting that it would provide a significant advantage to any organization.

Snead expressed confidence in Morris’s ability to assemble an outstanding coaching staff and predicted potential tampering charges due to the widespread interest from qualified coaches wanting to work with Morris. He also anticipated players reaching out to Morris, showcasing the impact he could have on attracting talent.

Morris has been the Rams’ defensive coordinator since 2021, contributing to their Super Bowl LVI victory in his inaugural season. Despite the Rams organization valuing Morris and acknowledging his crucial role in the team’s success, they recognize that his accomplishments make it likely for him to secure a head coaching position elsewhere.

The Rams’ head coach, Sean McVay, echoed Snead’s sentiments, emphasizing Morris’s magnetism and the immediate excitement he brought to the organization when he joined. Morris has reportedly interviewed or is scheduled to interview with the Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and Seattle Seahawks.

According to the Rooney Rule, if Morris secures a head coaching position with another team, the Rams would be entitled to a third-round compensatory pick for two consecutive years.
