Andrews Not Active for Divisional Round Matchup With Texans

As the Ravens gear up for their upcoming clash against the Texans at M&T Bank Stadium this Saturday, they will be without their standout tight end, Mark Andrews. Andrews sustained an ankle injury during a hip-drop tackle on November 16 against the Bengals and has been sidelined since. Despite a dedicated effort to return in time for the playoffs, the team’s earlier speculation that he might be ready for Saturday’s game did not materialize. Despite participating in full practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, Andrews has been ruled out.

In Andrews’ absence, Isaiah Likely has stepped up admirably, taking over tight end duties since Week 12. Likely has been a key contributor, leading the team in receiving yards with 322 and securing five touchdown catches. Mark Andrews acknowledged Likely’s progress, noting his improvement and impactful plays in each game, attributing it to his hard work. The Ravens express gratitude for having Likely as a reliable replacement.

Before succumbing to injury, Andrews showcased his prowess with 45 receptions for 544 yards and six touchdowns in the first six games of the season. One of his standout performances occurred in Week 8 against the Browns, where he recorded five receptions on five targets, accumulating 80 yards and two touchdowns in a convincing 28-3 victory.

Despite the setback of missing Andrews, the Ravens are set to face the Texans in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET at M&T Bank Stadium. Isaiah Likely will once again assume the starting tight end role as the Ravens aim to advance in the postseason.
