Robyn Glaser Takes Key Role in Patriots, Bridging Past Controversy with Future Support for New Head Coach

On the day that marked the introduction of Jerod Mayo as the 15th head coach in the New England Patriots’ storied history, the franchise also reportedly reinforced its business department with a significant appointment. As per Phil Perry of NBC Sports, Robyn Glaser has been named the executive vice president of football business and a senior advisor to the newly appointed head coach.

Robyn Glaser has a longstanding association with team owners Robert and Jonathan Kraft and initially joined the Kraft Group in 2007. Throughout her tenure, Glaser has been involved in various business projects and strategic initiatives, holding the position of a senior business advisor. Additionally, she played a crucial role within the Patriots organization, serving as the senior vice president of business affairs and chief administrative officer of football.

In this multifaceted role, Glaser undertook responsibilities spanning human resources and finance, participated in drafting player contracts, engaged with sports technology, and managed the players’ social justice fund. Her role extended to league relations and compliance, making her a notable figure in the Patriots organization.

However, Glaser’s name may ring a bell for Patriots fans due to her involvement in the infamous Deflate gate scandal of 2014. During that controversy, she communicated with the league office and NFL counsel Jeff Pash following the leak of inaccurate information to ESPN, a move seemingly aimed at portraying the club in a negative light. Reflecting on the Deflate gate investigation, Glaser expressed her belief in the mishandling of the situation by the league, calling into question the integrity of the NFL’s $5 million investigation.

Despite the Deflate gate episode, Glaser continues to play a significant behind-the-scenes role within the Patriots organization, with her recent appointment further emphasizing her importance. Now, part of her responsibilities will include providing support to the newly appointed head coach, Jerod Mayo.

Before becoming a key figure within the Kraft Group and the Patriots, Glaser pursued studies in government and economics at Colby College. Subsequently, she furthered her education at Washington University in St. Louis and gained professional experience at various organizations, including working at the New York office of the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, as well as EMI in Los Angeles. Her diverse background and extensive experience position her as a valuable asset in both the business and football aspects of the Patriots organization.
