Titans Seek Interview with Panthers Offensive Coordinator Thomas Brown for Head Coaching Role

For the third consecutive year, Thomas Brown is attracting interest for a head coaching position, with the Tennessee Titans seeking to interview him for their vacant head coach position, as reported by ESPN’s Kimberley A. Martin. Brown’s coaching journey saw him progress through the college ranks before joining the Los Angeles Rams as the running backs coach in 2020, eventually being promoted to assistant head coach and later taking on the role of tight ends coach. In the previous offseason, when Frank Reich became the Panthers head coach, he brought Brown on board as the offensive coordinator.

Despite challenges with the Panthers’ inconsistent offense in 2023, particularly with rookie quarterback Bryce Young, Brown took on play-calling duties after Reich briefly reclaimed them before his dismissal. While the Panthers’ offensive statistics were less than stellar, Brown received some leniency considering the staff’s upheaval. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that he won’t remain with the Panthers in 2024.

Brown’s swift ascent has made him a recurring candidate for head coaching positions; previously linked to the Arizona State opening in 2022 and interviewing for the Texans job last offseason.
