Steve Kerr Slams Chicago Bulls Fans Criticized for Disrespectful Behavior During Ring of Honor Ceremony…

Steve Kerr Condemns ‘Shameful’ Boos at Jerry Krause During Bulls’ Ring of Honor Ceremony…

Steve Kerr expressed his dismay at the “shameful” booing directed towards former Bulls general manager Jerry Krause during the team’s inaugural Ring of Honor ceremony.

The event, meant to be a special night for Bulls franchise legends, was marred by the negative reception towards Krause, who was being inducted into the Ring of Honor.

Kerr, who played for the Bulls for five seasons and is now the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, shared his reaction after the game. While he didn’t personally hear the boos, he was informed about them upon reentering the floor from halftime.

Kerr described the booing as “absolutely shameful” and expressed his devastation for Thelma Krause, Jerry’s widow, who was present to honor her late husband.

The former Bulls point guard emphasized the need to celebrate the team’s achievements and the positive contributions made by Krause, regardless of personal opinions about him.

Kerr highlighted Krause’s role in building the championship-winning Bulls teams of the 90s and criticized those who chose to boo during the ceremony.

Kerr was not alone in his disappointment, as other former Bulls and even the current Bulls CEO Michael Reinsdorf expressed their disapproval of the crowd’s reaction. The Ring of Honor ceremony aimed to celebrate the contributions of 13 inductees, including Krause, to the Bulls’ history.

Despite the negative incident, Kerr reflected on the overall success and nostalgia of the two-day celebration, expressing gratitude for being part of the special era and honored with the group. Jerry Krause, who passed away in 2017, was recognized for his pivotal role in the Bulls’ six championships in nine years and his significant contributions as an executive in NBA history.

Chicago Bulls Fans Criticized for Disrespectful Behavior During Ring of Honor Ceremony…

Bulls fans faced widespread criticism on Friday night for their behavior during the Ring of Honor ceremony for the Chicago Bulls.

The team had decided to establish a Ring of Honor and inducted several former franchise members into the inaugural 2024 class.

Notably, both Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan were absent from the ceremony, while the widow of former franchise general manager Jerry Krause was in attendance.

To her surprise, Krause’s widow, Thelma, experienced booing from Bulls fans when her late husband was shown on the screen during the halftime ceremony at the Bulls-Golden State Warriors game.

The fans’ boos directed at Krause and received by Thelma were widely denounced as disrespectful and classless. Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Warriors and a three-time Bulls championship winner as a player, described the actions as “absolutely shameful.”

Jerry Krause, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 77, had a notable career as a two-time Executive of the Year Award winner and played a key role in building the Bulls’ dynasty that secured six championships.

However, he has also faced criticism for his role in breaking up the dynasty, a portrayal emphasized in “The Last Dance,” a documentary produced by Michael Jordan about the Bulls.

This recent portrayal likely influenced public opinion and played a significant role in the negative reaction during the ceremony on Friday.
