Aston Villa has expressed interest in acquiring the services of Roma and Italy full-back Leonardo Spinazzola, who is anticipated to let his contract run down this summer.
With spells at Juventus and Atalanta in his past, the 30-year-old has established himself at Roma since 2019, making 132 appearances and contributing seven goals along with 20 assists. Spinazzola, a crucial part of Italy’s successful Euro 2020 campaign, has earned 24 caps for his national team.
Reports from La Roma 24 suggest uncertainty surrounding Spinazzola’s future at Giallorossi, with his agent, Davide Lippi, confirming the intention not to renew the contract when it expires this summer. Aston Villa is explicitly mentioned as one of the clubs expressing interest in the player, while Arsenal is also keeping a close eye on the Italian full-back.
The potential interest in Spinazzola raises questions, especially considering Villa’s existing left-back options in Alex Moreno and Lucas Digne.
