West Ham Pursues £8.5 Million Deal for Danish Midfielder Amidst Growing Competition…

West Ham is reportedly considering a move for 22-year-old Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup in the upcoming January transfer window. The interest from West Ham has sparked competition, with Serie A giants Juventus and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace also expressing interest.

According to TuttoJuve, West Ham is prepared to offer £8.5 million to secure the talented Danish international. Frendrup has been a regular starter for Genoa, making 18 appearances in Serie A and providing four assists.

His impressive performances, including an average of 4 tackles and 1.2 interceptions per game, have attracted attention from various top clubs.

With the transfer window shaping up to be a hectic period for West Ham, currently performing well under manager David Moyes, there is a particular focus on strengthening the squad.

The Hammers, who have advanced to the knockout rounds of the Europa League, are especially interested in bolstering their defensive midfield options, and Frendrup is viewed as a potential valuable addition.

As part of their transfer strategy, West Ham aims to make room for new signings by offloading some fringe players. German defender Thilo Kehrer is reportedly close to a loan move to AS Monaco within the next 48 hours, with Monaco having the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, there is interest from Saudi Arabian clubs in signing Nayef Aguerd, although West Ham is not considering a loan move for the player.

Said Benrahma, a winger for West Ham, is also a potential departure this month, with French club Lyon reportedly targeting him. A move for Benrahma could be on the horizon as part of West Ham’s efforts to optimize their squad for the challenges ahead.
