Carlisle United Manager Provides Latest Transfer Update Regarding Setbacks and Ongoing Negotiations…

MANAGER: We will continue our efforts…

Manager Paul Simpson provided an update on the club’s transfer activities as the transfer window is now open.

“I’m optimistic about securing at least one addition for Exeter next weekend,” he mentioned.

“While I initially anticipated two more signings, my confidence in those happening this week has waned. Nevertheless, we’ll persist in our efforts, doing everything possible to finalize deals, and hopefully, that will happen soon.”

Providing more details on the ongoing negotiations, Simpson elaborated, saying, “We are actively pursuing one permanent signing and one loan deal, but I’ll have to wait and see how things unfold throughout the week.”

Expressing some frustration, Simpson revealed, “There’s been a setback as we had already agreed on terms with both the club and the player for a permanent transfer.

However, I received a call yesterday afternoon informing me that another club has approached the player, and he wishes to engage in talks with them. It’s a situation I have to accept; there’s nothing I can do about it, but that’s how the process goes.”
