Cardile suggested that Red Bull introduced a novel technology, different from the approaches employed by Mercedes and Ferrari over the past several years. This revelation could offer Mercedes an advantage as they aim to design a competitive car for the upcoming season.

When asked about the possibility of teams downsizing their brake calipers, Cardile dismissed the idea, stating that the caliper size is a shared, open-source component among teams.

He emphasized that Red Bull’s recent technological introduction might involve calipers, potentially providing a weight advantage.

Cardile noted that while minor size differences might not significantly impact performance, Red Bull’s success highlights the importance of a comprehensive and dedicated approach to achieving optimal results.

The Red Bull car has outperformed rivals since the 2022 regulation changes, with only Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz winning a Grand Prix besides Red Bull drivers Verstappen and Perez in 2023.
