Larry Fitzgerald, a former NFL wide receiver, remains skeptical about the Detroit Lions’ recent success despite their clinching of the first division title since 1993.
While the Lions have garnered praise for their achievements, Fitzgerald expressed reservations during an episode of SiriusXM’s “Lets Go” NFL recap show.
He acknowledged the team’s current strong performance but emphasized the difficulty in taking them seriously, pointing out the prolonged gap since their last division championship.
Fitzgerald stated that, although the Lions are playing well, it’s challenging to generate excitement about their playoff prospects.
He referred to the upcoming matchup against the Dallas Cowboys as a crucial test for the team before entering the playoffs.
Fitzgerald also highlighted the stark differences between the current Lions and the 1993 team, mentioning the affordable gasoline prices and the presence of legendary running back Barry Sanders, who is not part of the current roster.
As Detroit faces the Cowboys in a primetime showdown, the team has an opportunity to prove their critics wrong and strengthen their case for postseason success.
