Dates Confirmed as Carlisle United to Faces New South Wales Club in Cumberland Cup Quarter-Final…

Details have been finalized for the quarter-final match between Carlisle United and Penrith in the Fred Conway Cumberland Cup. The encounter is set to take place at the Leo Group Stadium on Tuesday, January 30, kicking off at 7.30pm.

In this county senior cup last-eight fixture, a United XI will face off against a team from the Northern League Division One led by former Blues star Darren Edmondson.

His assistant, another ex-Carlisle favorite, is Richard Prokas. Carlisle secured their spot in the quarter-finals by defeating Aspatria in the second round, while Penrith advanced by overcoming Greystoke.

During the initial round, the Blues fielded a team comprised of senior professionals in a penalty shoot-out victory against Carlisle City, and a youth XI represented them in the second round against Aspatria.

The approach United will take in this fixture is likely to depend on the composition and condition of their squad as the January transfer window draws to a close, particularly considering the crucial stage in their battle for safety in League One.

Meanwhile, two other quarter-final matchups have confirmed dates. The first-last eight game will see Windscale hosting Maryport Athletic on Wednesday, January 17, at 7.30pm.

Alston Moor is set to be the venue for the clash between Alston Moor and Whitehaven Miners Social on Saturday, February 10, with a kick-off time of 7.30pm.

The date for the match between Holders Workington Reds and Unisun Athletic is yet to be confirmed.
