Portsmouth Manager Provides Transfer Window Update, Hume’s Future Considered, but Pompey Resolute in Squad Retention…

The latest update on potential departures from Portsmouth in the upcoming January transfer window has been provided by the team’s manager. Despite the looming transfer window, Portsmouth is determined to resist the temptation to let players go.

Blues boss John Mousinho has disclosed that there is consideration for a loan or permanent move for Denver Hume, an out-of-favour defender. However, apart from Hume, there are no plans for any other player exits as the winter transfer period is just nine days away.

Portsmouth is anticipating incoming business in the coming weeks to strengthen their position at the top of the table in the second half of the season.

Denver Hume, who remains out of favour, might have played his last game for the club during the Bristol Street Motors Trophy outing against AFC Wimbledon. The club is actively seeking a new home for the left-back as he enters the final six months of his contract.

While players like Ryley Towler, Ben Stevenson, and Zak Swanson have seen limited playing time, Mousinho sees them all as integral parts of the squad with roles to play in the second half of the season.

Goalkeeper Josh Oluwayemi had been on loan with Chelmsford in the National League South but suffered a thumb fracture, and Harry Jewitt-White has been with Hawks. Liam Vincent has gained playing time with Worthing.

Mousinho expressed satisfaction with the current squad options and emphasized that there are no plans to weaken the team’s depth.

He mentioned, “We’re still looking at options for Denver, whether that’s on loan or permanently. We’ll try to make something work for both him and the club.

Apart from that though, there are no plans at the moment (for anyone to leave). We feel we have a solid squad, and we’re pretty happy with where everyone is.

It’s going to be one of those that if we sat down in four months’ time and looked at the contributions of all the players, all of the lads are going to have contributed at some point.”
