The Colts secured a thrilling overtime victory against the Titans, with Gardner Minshew leading a playoff-chasing charge.
Minshew’s crucial 55-yard connection with Alec Pierce set the stage, positioning the Colts at the Titans’ 4-yard line.
Following an initial incompletion, Minshew found Michael Pittman in the end zone, sealing a 31-28 road triumph in Nashville.
Despite trailing 17-7 in the first half, the Colts mounted a comeback, scoring 15 consecutive points. A pivotal moment was a blocked punt returned for a touchdown by Grant Stuard, but the Colts thwarted the two-point conversion.
Another disruption to Titans’ punter Ryan Stonehouse, ruled as a fumble due to cornerback Tony Brown’s swift action, allowed the Colts to limit Tennessee to a field goal.
The subsequent drive saw the Titans equalize, but an unusual circumstance with Ryan Tannehill holding for the injured Stonehouse resulted in a missed extra point by Nick Folk.
Despite a strong performance by Derrick Henry, who logged 21 carries for 102 yards and two touchdowns before leaving for a concussion evaluation, and a knee injury sidelining defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, the Titans suffered a painful 31-28 defeat, dropping to 4-8 and likely dashing their playoff aspirations. Their next challenge is against the Dolphins in Miami.
On the other hand, the 7-4 Colts, riding a five-game winning streak, are set to face the Cincinnati Bengals in their quest for a sixth consecutive victory.
Gardner Minshew’s standout performance included 26-of-42 passing for 312 yards and two touchdowns, with key connections to Alec Pierce and Michael Pittman, both surpassing 100 receiving yards in the game.
