“Worst Ever…” – Fans, Scotland Star and 2 Former Referees Slams Rangers’ Player for Malicious Act In Aberdeen Clash…

Rangers’ Todd Cantwell is under intense criticism from football fans and former referees after what has been dubbed as the “worst dive ever.”

During the game against Aberdeen, Cantwell, in an apparent attempt to break into the penalty area, engaged in theatrical behavior, seeking contact that never materialized and eventually taking a dive.

Even Rangers supporters found it challenging to defend Cantwell’s dive, with one fan humorously suggesting that it wouldn’t have been out of place on the 10m diving board at the Olympics.

The general sentiment among fans was disbelief, with one stating, “I’m sorry but I think this might be the worst I’ve ever seen! Nobody can defend that…”

Criticism extended beyond the fan base, as former Everton, Motherwell, and Scotland star James McFadden, in his commentary for Sky Sports, labeled Cantwell’s simulation attempt as “ridiculous.”

Former referees Steve Conroy and Des Roache went further, calling for retrospective action. Conroy expressed, “He’s a cheat and he should face a retrospective red card. It’s ridiculous.”

Roache, expressing his frustration, stated, “It’s actually embarrassing. He should be hammered for this – and it’s not the first time he’s done it.

Cheating is the worst thing in football – and that’s what this is. He should be hammered for this.” The call for accountability has even led to suggestions of playing the incident on a stadium screen for public scrutiny and ridicule.
