Sadler Reacts to Walsall’s Struggles in Front of Net Persist in Stalemate Against Forest Green Rovers…

Walsall’s struggles to score goals persisted in their recent match against Forest Green Rovers at Bescot, resulting in a 0-0 draw.

This marks the second consecutive league game in which they failed to find the back of the net, preventing them from widening the gap over the bottom two teams by nine points.

Although initially performing well in the season with 22 goals in their first 14 league matches, Walsall has only managed to score twice in their last four games out of 63 attempts.

This lack of offensive prowess was evident again as they faced Forest Green Rovers, who were second from the bottom and had lost four consecutive away league matches.

Despite the disappointment, Walsall remains six points clear of the relegation zone. However, their winless streak has now extended to five matches in League Two.

The team now looks ahead to challenging encounters against Barrow and Notts County, both positioned at the top of the table.

One positive takeaway from the match was Walsall’s first clean sheet since early October. The defensive lineup featured David Okagbue as a makeshift right-back and Oisin McEntee back in the central defense.

Unfortunately, right-back Joe Riley was unavailable due to a knee injury, with Manager Mat Sadler revealing in the post-match press conference that Riley could face a possible two-month spell on the sidelines.
