“I Did a Very Poor Job…” – UNC Football Coach Makes Shocking Claims Amid Loss to Wolfpack…

UNC Football Coach Mack Brown took full responsibility for the team’s recent struggles, admitting his own shortcomings in preparing the team.

Despite a promising start to the season with six consecutive wins and a No. 10 ranking in the AP Top 25 Poll, the Tar Heels have faced a downturn, losing four of their last six games. The latest setback was a 39-20 defeat against NC State, contributing to a challenging second half of the regular season.

Brown acknowledged that the team’s only win in the latter part of the season, a double-overtime victory against Duke, might have been influenced by controversial calls that favored UNC.

Expressing disappointment in the team’s performance, especially in the first half of the NC State game where they trailed 26-7, Brown emphasized his role in the preparation and took the blame for the lackluster showing.

In his post-game press conference, the 72-year-old coach praised the opposing team and Coach Doeren while candidly stating, “I did a very poor job of preparing our team.”

He highlighted the team’s struggles on both offense and defense in the first half and admitted that such a poor performance reflects inadequate coaching preparation. Brown concluded by reiterating that the responsibility lies entirely with him.

As the regular season comes to an end, Brown and the team, with an 8-4 record, now await the announcement of their bowl game destination, hoping to regroup and end the season on a positive note.
