Former Carlisle United Forward Makes a Shocking Mid-Season Transfer Move to National League…

Former Carlisle United striker Owen Windsor has signed with Chester FC, a National League North team.

The 22-year-old, who previously played for United during the 2021/22 season, has left Chippenham Town in the National League South to join Chester, a fellow sixth-tier side. Windsor may make his debut against South Shields.

Chester’s manager, Calum McIntyre, emphasized Windsor’s goal-scoring ability at their level and described the signing as crucial at this point in the season.

Windsor had joined Carlisle United on loan in January 2022 to assist the team in avoiding relegation from League One. Despite scoring on his debut, he made only two more appearances for Carlisle.

Following changes in management, he did not feature in the team and was eventually released by West Bromwich Albion, his parent club.

In February of the current year, Windsor joined Chippenham Town before making this move to Chester FC. Notably, he will reunite with former Carlisle midfielder George Glendon at the Deva Stadium.
