Chicago Bears’ Offensive Coordinator Faces Criticism and Calls for Accountability Amidst Quarterback Struggle…

The most recent remarks directed at Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields are overwhelmingly negative. In the past month, the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers took decisive action by firing their offensive coordinators in response to team struggles. In contrast, the Chicago Bears seem oblivious to the concept of accountability in the National Football League.

Despite being playoff contenders, the Bills and Steelers recognized the need for accountability and took steps to address their underperforming offensive units. Bears fans have long clamored for a similar approach, particularly in relation to offensive coordinator Luke Getsy.

Getsy’s inconsistent play-calling and failure to devise a scheme that complements quarterback Justin Fields are significant reasons why he is unsuitable for his current role. Recent comments made by Getsy only serve to reinforce the perception that he is not a supporter of Fields.

In response to a question about a fourth-quarter play, where Fields attempted a connection with rookie wide receiver Tyler Scott, Getsy provided a subpar explanation. Despite officially holding the offensive coordinator position, Getsy’s explanation raises doubts about his suitability for the role, regardless of the quarterback next season.

The suggestion that Fields should have thrown to D.J. Moore is deemed laughable, especially considering the play designed by the Bears had their best offensive player on a route that did not extend beyond the first-down marker. Getsy’s criticisms of Fields’ mechanics on the throw are also dismissed as laughable, given that the pass was accurately placed.

The Bears’ coaching staff appears to lack accountability, consistently attributing their shortcomings to the players rather than addressing their own coaching decisions and strategies.
