QPR set for double injury boost as Norwich City clash looms…

QPR is poised to receive a significant boost with the impending return of Jake Clarke-Salter and Reggie Cannon, who have both recovered from recent injuries.

The defensive duo is expected to be in contention for the upcoming Championship clash against Norwich City.

Queens Park Rangers’ manager, Marti Cifuentes, confirmed the positive development in a statement to West London Sport. He stated, “Both of them had a good training session today (Wednesday). Jake has been involved for the last two weeks’ training, so he is feeling and looking very good. Reggie has some minor issues with his knee, so he missed the last game, but he had a good practice, and we will evaluate him over the next few days. But so far, they look good.”

Clarke-Salter, who has been plagued by injuries this season, particularly a groin issue suffered in October against West Brom, has missed the club’s last three matches. Despite this, he has been actively training for the past two weeks and is in contention for selection against Norwich City.

On the other hand, Reggie Cannon, who sat out the previous match against Bristol City due to a minor knee problem, is also on the path to recovery. Cifuentes mentioned that Cannon’s progress will be monitored in the coming days, suggesting he may be on the bench for the upcoming fixture.

The question arises as to whether Clarke-Salter or Cannon will start against Norwich City. Cifuentes acknowledged the potential risk of starting Clarke-Salter, given his longer absence, but indicated that the defender is the more likely choice of the two. Cannon, with ongoing evaluation in the coming days, is expected to be on the bench, though surprises remain possible.

In summary, QPR is set to benefit from the return of Clarke-Salter and Cannon, providing manager Marti Cifuentes with additional defensive options for the crucial Championship clash against Norwich City.
