Walsall’s versatile player, Oisin McEntee, has extended his contract until 2025, showcasing the club’s confidence in the 22-year-old Irishman.
His current deal was set to expire next summer, but the new 12-month extension reflects the impact he has made, particularly in midfield under manager Mat Sadler at Bescot Stadium.
Having originally joined as a defender, McEntee’s adaptability has shone through as he transitioned into a utility role.
Despite a challenging start marked by shoulder surgery after representing the Republic of Ireland under-21s, he has already surpassed his appearance figures from the previous season, featuring in 20 games and scoring three times.
Formerly associated with Newcastle United, McEntee expressed his delight in securing the contract extension, emphasizing his happiness at Walsall and the belief instilled in him by head coach Sadler.
