“Impossible” – An Insider Has Revealed A ShockingUpdate on Aaron Nola’s Contract…

The Philadelphia Phillies recently secured the services of co-ace Aaron Nola with a significant seven-year, $172 million contract, solidifying their pitching rotation for both the short and long term.

The deal guarantees Nola an annual salary of $24,571,428 from 2024 to 2030 and includes various bonuses and perks.

MLB insider Jon Heyman provided a breakdown of the contract details on Twitter, revealing additional incentives such as $50,000 for an All-Star appearance, $100,000 for winning the Cy Young Award ($50,000 for second place, $25,000 for third place), $50,000 for a Gold Glove, $50,000 for League Championship Series/MVP, and $100,000 for World Series/MVP.

There’s also a provision that grants Nola a $1 million bonus if traded before the end of 2025, and he will acquire 10/5 veto rights in 2025.

Even a third-place finish in future Cy Young races or earning League Championship Series and World Series MVP awards could trigger additional bonuses for Nola. The Phillies, aiming to compete with National League powerhouses, recognize the importance of maintaining a top-notch rotation, particularly with pitchers like Zack Wheeler and Nola performing at their best.

While there are rumors of the Phillies pursuing additional pitchers, such as Yoshinobu Yamamoto, retaining Nola for the long term was deemed essential.

Nola, who began his career with the Phillies in 2015, has been a reliable frontline starter with a career ERA of 3.72 in regular-season play. He played a crucial role during the team’s challenging periods and continued to excel as they transitioned back to competitive form.

There’s a sentiment that Nola may retire with the Phillies, emphasizing the value of loyalty and the positive impact it has on team dynamics.
