Reyes Contemplates On January Loan Move Amid West Brom Manager’s Critical Remarks…

West Brom’s rising talent, Reyes Clearly, might consider a loan move from The Hawthorns in January following critical remarks from manager Carlos Corberan regarding his prospects in the first team.

Corberan emphasized that Clearly needs to put in significant effort to earn a spot in the first team, and his chances of making the bench in a fully fit squad seem limited.

Although Clearly was on the bench for the Championship clash against Coventry, the return of Josh Maja and eventually Daryl Dike could diminish his opportunities.

Corberan, speaking to the Express & Star on November 20, stated that academy players must deserve their chances and highlighted the need for Clearly to rediscover his form, especially considering his long-term injury.

These comments indicate that Clearly has a substantial journey ahead before breaking into the first team, especially when competing with fully fit players.

A plausible option could be a loan move to provide him with the chance to regain fitness and form. The 19-year-old, who faced a six-month setback due to a hamstring injury, made his appearance on the bench against Coventry.

Former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell expressed his belief, on June 7, that Clearly isn’t ready to be a star for the club and suggested that a loan deal would be more suitable, particularly after Clearly’s senior debut in August 2022.

Despite the setback, Clearly showcased his potential with 16 goals and three assists in 12 U21 appearances last season.

Although Clearly remains highly regarded by the club, as evidenced by his inclusion against Coventry, the intense competition for positions once players return to full fitness suggests that a January loan could be the most beneficial option for his development.
