Danny Rohl, the manager of Sheffield Wednesday, expresses frustration over the timing of the international break following a disappointing 4-0 defeat to Millwall at Hillsborough.
Despite a recent victory against Rotherham United, setbacks like a 1-0 loss to Bristol City, where they played with 10 men, and the Millwall defeat have made the break less than ideal for Rohl and his team.
Traditionally, managers seek a quick turnaround in the next game to address poor performances. However, Rohl and his squad will have to wait two weeks before facing Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham City. Despite the delay, Rohl plans to use the break for reflection on the progress made since he took over from Xisco Munoz in October.
“We have trained intensively over the last four weeks, focusing on various aspects of our game,” Rohl stated. “Normally, after a defeat like the one against Millwall, everyone involved would want to play the next game immediately to rectify the situation.
However, we will now take the opportunity during this break to analyze the past four weeks, gathering feedback from players and coaches. This will help us identify strengths and weaknesses and devise effective solutions for the future.
