Portsmouth’s manager, John Mousinho, has redirected blame away from goalkeeper Will Norris for Charlton Athletic’s late comeback in a 2-2 draw.
Despite Norris conceding two goals, Mousinho attributed the outcome to lackluster defending by the Blues. The match, witnessed by 19,404 spectators, saw Charlton equalize twice, with Norris being beaten by Alfie May’s shot in the 71st minute and Connor McGrandles’ header in stoppage time.

While acknowledging Norris’s integral role in Pompey’s early-season success, Mousinho emphasized his frustration with the team’s defensive lapses.
He expressed discontent with Zak Swanson losing sight of the ball, leading to McGrandles’ decisive goal. Mousinho highlighted that although Norris has been a standout goalkeeper, the team should focus on improving their defensive organization to prevent relying on crucial saves.
Despite Norris’s consistent contributions, Mousinho emphasized the need for better performance in the build-up to avoid putting undue pressure on the goalkeeper.
