The Trivela Group is set to expand its portfolio, and a new competitor emerges for Walsall FC’s attention.
Following a Special General Meeting, Drogheda United’s ownership has officially approved the sale of the club to the Trivela Group.
Drogheda United confirmed this development in a statement released through their social media channels.
During the Special General Meeting held on November 6th, 144 Drogheda United members participated in the vote, with 91 votes in favor and only 1 against the acquisition.
Before the meeting, 59 votes were cast by proxy, leaving 85 potential votes to be decided on the spot.
The endorsement required a 75% majority of all votes cast, and it easily passed with an additional 32 votes cast during the meeting.
Club chairperson Joanna Byrne expressed her gratitude to those in attendance and noted that they had made history with their votes, laying the foundation for the most promising future for Drogheda United in the town’s history.
