Who’s Playing and Who’s Sitting Out – Chiefs vs. Dolphins Week 9 Inactives…

Today marks the game day for the Kansas City Chiefs, who are set to face the Miami Dolphins at Deutsche Bank Park in Germany. Both teams are heading into a crucial matchup, with Kansas City looking to bounce back from a disappointing performance against the Denver Broncos in Week 8.

Andy Reid’s team needs to prove that they can still compete with the top contenders in the AFC, and Mike McDaniel’s Miami squad faces a similar challenge. The Chiefs have a history of success on their side, while the Dolphins are being considered as potential Super Bowl contenders for the first time this year.

Before their international clash, the Chiefs have announced their list of inactive players. Here’s who won’t be taking the field for Kansas City:

  • Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire
  • Defensive end BJ Thompson
  • Offensive lineman Mike Caliendo
  • Defensive tackle Neil Farrell
  • Defensive end Malik Herring

The last four names on the Chiefs’ inactive list have become familiar in recent weeks. Malik Herring has been a regular absence from the lineup since Charles Omenihu returned from his suspension at the beginning of the season. Notably, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who was added to the list due to illness, won’t be participating in the Chiefs’ game in Germany. In his place, preseason standout La’Mical Perine has been elevated from the practice squad.

In positive news for Kansas City, Willie Gay Jr. is active for Sunday’s game. The veteran linebacker had a lower back injury in last week’s loss to Denver but returned to practice and received the green light to play in Week 9. On the other hand, wide receiver Richie James, who remains on injured reserve, has been ruled out.

The Dolphins have also revealed their list of inactive players:

  • Wide receiver Robbie Chosen
  • Quarterback Skylar Thompson
  • Cornerback Kelvin Joseph
  • Safety Brandon Jones
  • Offensive lineman Robert Hunt

Two Dolphins, Robert Hunt and Brandon Jones, were ruled out in advance of Week 9 due to injury. Although eight other players were listed as questionable, all of them are active. Notably, 30-year-old wide receiver Robbie Chosen, who last played on Oct. 15 against the Carolina Panthers, is not on the inactive list.
