Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl has expressed his disagreement with the decision to give Barry Bannan a red card in their 1-0 loss to Bristol City.
Rohl believes that Bannan committed a foul, but he does not consider it severe enough to warrant a straight red card.
He mentioned that the presence of the goalkeeper and a defender behind the foul in the box should be taken into consideration, and if Bannan wasn’t the last man, then a red card might not be justified.
Rohl acknowledged that these decisions are part of football and commended his team for their exceptional response despite playing with ten men for a significant portion of the game.
