Bengals’ coach has issued a shocking update on Tycen Anderson’s injury…

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has made a surprising revelation about Tycen Anderson’s injury. Anderson, the Bengals’ safety, has been sidelined for the season due to a torn ACL he sustained during Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers.

However, it has come to light that Anderson continued to play on the field despite his ACL injury, displaying incredible determination to help the team secure a vital 31-17 victory over their California-based rivals.

Zac Taylor confirmed this information, stating that Anderson tore his ACL early in the game but persisted in playing through the pain. This is a tough setback for Anderson, who had dealt with injuries last year and was making an impact early in the current season, primarily on special teams. He concludes the season with five tackles, and the Bengals’ roster now stands at 52 members after placing him on the injured reserve list. The team may consider promoting veteran safety Mike Thomas from the practice squad to fill the void left by Anderson’s absence.

Tycen Anderson, who hails from Toledo, Ohio, and played college football there, had an impressive final year with 44 tackles, a sack, and two passes broken up. He was drafted by the Bengals in the 2022 NFL Draft as the 166th pick. While he only recorded eight tackles with the Bengals over two seasons before the unfortunate injury, the hope is that the 24-year-old, 6-foot-2, 210-pound safety will recover in time for the next season.

Without Tycen Anderson, the Bengals will face the Buffalo Bills and their star player, Josh Allen, in a highly anticipated matchup at Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday. Despite a challenging start to the season, the Bengals have won three consecutive games and remain competitive in the AFC North, albeit in last place. The Bills, with a 5-3 record, are also looking to build a winning streak after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-18 in Week 8. The game is scheduled to kick off just after 8:20 ET on Sunday night.
