Countdown to Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training 2024 with Dates, Details, and Expectations…

When will the Philadelphia Phillies’ pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training in 2024? The 2023 MLB season has concluded, and the offseason has officially begun.

With the disappointment of the past season behind us, we are already looking ahead to the promise of the coming year, imagining sunny days in Florida.

In the wake of an eventful yet ultimately unsatisfying season, many of us are grappling with the prospect of enduring the long winter months without the comforting presence of Phillies baseball to enjoy. As we cast our gaze forward to the Phillies’ offseason, our minds inevitably turn to the question of when Spring Training will commence.

The exact date for the Phillies’ pitchers and catchers to report has not been confirmed, but we do have some key information. Phillies pitchers and catchers traditionally convene for Spring Training over a three-day period in mid-February (for example, it was February 13-15 in 2023). However, it’s important to note that each team determines its own specific mandatory arrival date within this timeframe.

If you’re curious about when the position players will join in, they typically have a voluntary reporting date set about 5-6 days later, with a mandatory reporting date approximately 10 days after the pitchers and catchers.

As for the location, the Phillies will continue their annual tradition of holding Spring Training in Clearwater, Florida, for the 2024 season. Their training camp will be based at the Carpenter Complex, where both major and minor league players will prepare for the upcoming season, utilizing the Paul Owens Training Facility and the David P. Montgomery Baseball Performance Center.

The Phillies will also host their Grapefruit League Spring Training games at BayCare Ballpark.

Looking at the schedule for Spring Training games in 2024, the official MLB Spring Training schedule is already accessible. The Grapefruit League action is set to kick off on February 22, with the Phillies participating in their first game on February 24, as they face the Toronto Blue Jays in Dunedin.

The Phillies will host their inaugural Grapefruit League home game on February 25, when the New York Yankees visit Clearwater. Their 31-game Grapefruit League schedule will wrap up with a home game against the Tampa Bay Rays on March 25, just before they head north to Philadelphia to commence the MLB Regular Season on March 28.
