The Nittany Lions’ starting defensive end, Chop Robinson, and his primary backup, Amin Vanover, both left the game against Ohio State due to undisclosed injuries and did not return. With their status uncertain, Lyons, along with a few other players, is in line to fill the gap.
Lyons made a strong impression in his previous game appearances, and the coaching staff is considering whether to use his redshirt status. While it was initially thought they would be cautious, the evolving situation may lead to him playing this season.
