Pittsburgh Steelers issues latest injury updates in preparation for their Week 8 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars…

Three Steelers starters were absent from Wednesday’s practice in preparation for their Week 8 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, October 29 at 1 p.m. ET.

After their bye week, the Steelers were in better health than before, as WR Diontae Johnson returned from injured reserve and had a productive performance with five receptions for 79 receiving yards in their victory over the LA Rams. The team is now hoping to see the return of All-Pro DT Cameron Heyward as soon as possible.

Here’s the injury report for the Steelers leading up to Week 8 on Wednesday, October 25:

  • Fully participated: RB Anthony McFarland (knee), LB Cole Holcomb (ankle)
  • Limited participation: CB Patrick Peterson (rest day)
  • Did not participate: OL Nate Herbig (illness), CB Levi Wallace (foot), LG Isaac Seumalo (rest day)

As Week 8 approaches, the injury report looks mostly favorable, with RB Anthony McFarland progressing in his return from injured reserve within the 21-day practice window. LB Cole Holcomb, who briefly left the game in Week 7 due to an ankle injury, participated fully on Wednesday.

Notable absences include OL Nate Herbig, who is sidelined due to illness, and CB Levi Wallace, who is nursing a foot injury. In Week 7, Wallace’s playing time decreased to a season-low 72% of defensive snaps, coinciding with a season-high 78% of snaps for rookie Joey Porter Jr.

It’s also worth mentioning that versatile backup offensive lineman Nate Herbig missed practice due to illness.
