The Watford manager is aware of Danny Röhl and acknowledges the challenges in preparing to face Sheffield Wednesday…

After a two-and-a-half-year absence, Sheffield Wednesday is returning to Watford’s Vicarage Road, aiming for their first victory of the season with Danny Röhl as their new coach.

Their previous visit to Watford resulted in a 1-0 loss under Xisco Munoz’s management, but Röhl now leads the Owls.

Valerian Ismael, the Watford boss, is no stranger to Röhl, having played for Bayern Munich, where Röhl served as an assistant manager to Hansi Flick.

Ismael himself has a history in German football, having played for teams like Bayern Munich, Werder Bremen, and Hannover 96. Consequently, it’s not surprising that he’s familiar with Röhl’s early career.

Ismael expressed his awareness of Röhl, stating, “I know Danny Röhl’s name and his career so far.” He also acknowledged Sheffield Wednesday’s intent to establish a distinct playing style and identity.

Ismael emphasized the importance of approaching the game one step at a time and performing with the necessary intensity in front of their home fans.

Despite understanding the principles of Röhl’s coaching style, Ismael admitted that a lack of information about Röhl as a manager has left both him and Wednesday supporters uncertain about Röhl’s approach to team selection and tactics.

However, Ismael stressed the significance of focusing on their own performance and decisions, expressing their strong desire to deliver a positive performance throughout the entire match and bring joy to their fans.
