“We will make the decision” – Danny Rohl clarifies his stance on a 32-year-old Sheffield Wednesday player…

Sheffield Wednesday’s manager, Danny Rohl, has expressed his opinion regarding Marvin Johnson. The 32-year-old player had previously been excluded from training by Xisco Munoz, leaving his future uncertain.

Marvin Johnson played a crucial role in Sheffield Wednesday’s promotion from League One during the 2022/23 season, contributing an impressive 14 assists in 50 appearances. However, Munoz did not favor him.

Now, Johnson has returned to training, and Rohl has been asked about his future with the club. He is hopeful of the possibility of Johnson showcasing his skills in front of the Hillsborough supporters in the coming weeks.

Rohl’s remarks regarding Johnson’s future seem promising. It appears that the player will have an opportunity to prove himself under the new manager, and the decision now rests with him.

Rohl stated in an interview with Yorkshire Live: “I had a constructive discussion with Marvin, outlining my expectations for his behavior both on and off the field. We’ve brought him back to training, and we’ll evaluate his performance using data before determining his inclusion in the squad.”

Reintroducing Johnson into the Wednesday squad isn’t straightforward, as the current 25-man roster does not include the wide player, and he must be officially registered before he can participate.

This situation appears to be on the path to a resolution. Rohl appears eager to address the matter and assess Johnson’s capabilities, as evidenced by the player’s recent training sessions overseen by the Head of Sports Science.

Marvin Johnson has much to offer. Akin Famewo and Tyreeq Bakinson have been forced to play out of position on the left side during this season, and having Johnson available would likely bring more balance to the Sheffield Wednesday team.
