Ipswich Town latest injury updates with key man ruled out amid Rotherham United clash…

Ipswich Town’s upcoming match against Rotherham United will be without their striker Freddie Ladapo, who is nursing an Achilles injury sustained during the recent international break.

The Ipswich Town manager, Kieran McKenna, confirmed Ladapo’s absence for the upcoming game against his former club.

Ladapo, aged 30, is set to consult a specialist to assess the extent of his injury and determine the duration of his absence from the field. In his most recent appearance for Ipswich Town against Preston North End, he came off the bench as they secured a 4-2 victory.

McKenna provided an update on Ladapo’s condition, stating, “Freddie is seeing a specialist today due to an Achilles issue. We hope it’s not a major concern, but he won’t be available for the weekend’s match, and his availability for next week’s games remains uncertain.”

Losing Ladapo to injury is unfortunate for Ipswich Town, as he contributes to their attacking options and squad depth. Nevertheless, the team still has strong alternatives in the likes of George Hirst and Kayden Jackson.

Ipswich Town signed Ladapo from Rotherham in May of the previous year, bolstering their attacking lineup. In the last season, he netted 21 goals in all competitions, with 17 in the league, contributing significantly to the team’s promotion from League One. In the current season, Ladapo has scored four goals. His contract with Ipswich Town runs until the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.

Ladapo’s journey in professional football began when he was signed by Crystal Palace in 2016, following spells in non-league football with Kidderminster Harriers and Margate. Afterward, he played for Southend United, Plymouth Argyle, and Rotherham before joining Ipswich Town.

Under the leadership of Kieran McKenna, Ipswich Town is performing impressively in the second tier and currently sits in second place in the league table, with Leicester City leading the pack. The team is eager to maintain their momentum with a victory against Rotherham in their upcoming match.
