Kieran McKenna, the manager of Ipswich Town, acknowledges the challenge posed by fixtures being rescheduled for television broadcasts and emphasizes the need for his team to adapt to these changes. Ipswich will resume play after the recent international break with a Friday night match against Rotherham, which will be televised on Sky (8pm kickoff).

Given the excitement and goal-scoring displays that Ipswich has showcased following their promotion to the Championship, it’s likely that more of their matches will be chosen for TV coverage in the coming weeks. McKenna recognizes that shifting a game to a Friday can be challenging, particularly when it involves traveling for an away match.

He points out that this alteration can cost them a day of preparation, especially when some of their players have international duties midweek. Nevertheless, he stresses the importance of rising to the occasion and accepting these scheduling changes.

While discussing the upcoming schedule, McKenna humorously alludes to Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, who has criticized the early kick-off times his team often faces after international breaks. McKenna assures that he won’t go to the extent of complaining like Klopp but emphasizes the team’s responsibility to handle such situations.

Ipswich’s record in live televised games has improved in recent times, with four consecutive wins in front of the cameras. The upcoming match against Rotherham marks the beginning of a demanding sequence of six games in 23 days, leading up to the next international break.

Despite the intensity of this schedule, McKenna expresses enthusiasm and mentions that participation in the Carabao Cup adds to their fixtures. He highlights the strength of their squad, with all players training well and deserving of game time. The team’s aim is to approach this series of games with a positive attitude and evaluate their progress during the subsequent break in November.

Ipswich’s upcoming fixtures include Rotherham (A), Bristol City (A), Plymouth (H), Fulham (H) in the Carabao Cup Round 4, Birmingham (A), and Swansea (H).
