In an ideal scenario, a Portsmouth forward outlines their personal objective for the season…

Portsmouth’s attacker, Abu Kamara, has acknowledged setting a personal goal target for the current season, emphasizing the importance of gaining experience.

The 20-year-old, who joined Portsmouth on loan from Norwich City last summer to secure regular first-team opportunities, has made 16 appearances in various competitions this season, scoring twice.

Kamara openly expressed his desire to score over ten goals in all competitions this season but underlined that this is not his sole focus for the term.

He stressed that the team’s performance takes precedence, and his primary goal during his loan spell at Fratton Park is to acquire valuable experience in senior football.

Kamara shared with BBC Sounds, “Ideally, I do want to score over ten goals this season. However, ultimately, it’s about the team’s performance. I simply aim to perform well and gain experience as much as I can. If I do reach the ten-goal mark, that’s fantastic; if not, it’s not a significant concern.”

While Kamara displayed consistent goal-scoring prowess during his time in Norwich’s youth ranks, he has so far only managed to find the net twice in senior football.
