EFL shares full Updates on Wolves’ Pursuit of Southampton Striker Che Adams: What He Could Add to the Molineux…

In a recent Q & A session with The Athletic, journalist Steve Madeley offered insights on Wolves’ pursuit of Southampton striker Che Adams. Madeley suggested that while it’s not entirely ruled out, Adams might not be Wolves’ top choice. Missing out on Adams during the summer transfer window was disappointing for Wolves, but it did provide the recruitment team with more time to explore alternative options. It is expected that by January, they will have a larger pool of players to consider, with potentially more exciting and cost-effective prospects.

Che Adams’ Strong Performance in the English Championship

At St. Mary’s Stadium, Che Adams has enjoyed a solid campaign, delivering several impressive performances as Southampton’s main attacking focal point. The Scottish forward has tallied three goals and a couple of assists in ten appearances for Southampton across various competitions this season.

Adams has been particularly effective in the attacking third, demonstrating his abilities with an average of 1.9 shots, 0.9 key passes, and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the EFL Championship. He has also displayed accuracy in distributing possession in the opponent’s half, completing 76.2% of his attempted passes in the English second tier (statistics provided by whoscored).

What Adams Can Contribute to Wolves

Che Adams possesses the skill to create space for himself and take accurate shots on target. He can be a lethal finisher in the final third when he is in top form.

Wouldn't rule it out': Wolves could make fresh move for 27-year-old in January

Additionally, the Scottish forward is capable of setting up promising scoring opportunities for teammates in and around the opposition’s penalty area. While his primary position is as a center-forward, he can also fulfill a role as a wide player on either flank when required.

Adams has the potential to enhance the attacking prowess of Wolves under manager Gary O’Neil. With his talent and potential, he could become a key figure at the West Midlands club in the future. Therefore, securing a deal for him in the upcoming January transfer window should be a priority for Wolves.
